About this weather & air quality

For travel planning, fitness scheduling and just general curiosity, knowing the current weather and air quality of any city is useful. The tool combines a geocoding lookup (turning a city name into coordinates) with weather and air quality endpoints from Open-Meteo, a free public weather API.

The European AQI scale is reported alongside raw PM2.5 and PM10 values. PM2.5 (fine particulates) is the most health-relevant pollutant for everyday exposure — levels above 25 µg/m³ for extended periods are linked to respiratory and cardiovascular issues. PM10 (coarser particulates) matters too but typically tracks PM2.5.

For long-term respiratory conditions or sensitive groups, use the AQI as a planning input — high days are not the right ones for outdoor exercise. For everyday use, just compare to your local norms.

How to use it

  1. Enter a city name (any language, English usually works best).
  2. Click Check weather.
  3. Read the temperature, humidity, wind speed and air quality numbers.

Tips & notes

  • PM2.5 above 35 µg/m³ is unhealthy for sensitive groups; above 55 is unhealthy for everyone. Plan outdoor activity around the readings.
  • For long-term tracking, use the official source for your country (EPA in the US, DEFRA in the UK, local equivalents elsewhere).
  • For travel, check both weather and AQI a few days before departure to set expectations.

Frequently asked questions

How current is the data?

The weather data is updated hourly; the air quality data is updated every few hours. For real-time monitoring during a pollution event, use a dedicated app for your region.

Does the AQI scale match my country?

Different countries use different AQI scales (EU, US, India, China). The tool reports the European AQI; the raw PM values are universal and you can compare against your local guidance.

Why cannot my city be found?

Try the English name or a major nearby city. The geocoding works best for cities with consistent English transliterations.

Weather & Air Quality in the Network & Web collection

The Weather & Air Quality lives alongside IP Address Lookup on the Network & Web page. That landing page collects every network & web tool Dailiyo publishes, plus the editorial notes on formula sources, review cadence and how each result should (and should not) be interpreted. If a related network & web calculation isn't yet in the collection and you'd like to see it, drop a line via the contact page — the editorial team reviews every request and prioritises tools that come up most often in reader questions.
