For best quality, downscale (make the image smaller) rather than upscale (make it bigger). Downscaling preserves information; upscaling has to invent pixels that were not in the original and the result is usually blurry. Modern AI upscalers can do better, but they are out of scope for a browser-based tool.
The aspect ratio lock keeps the image proportions intact. With the lock on, changing the width also changes the height proportionally. Turn it off if you need a specific width AND height regardless of distortion.
